After a somewhat messy break-up with Blink-182 last year, Tom Delonge has decided to focus on a new project…

In an interview with Mic, Tom discussed his new project titled “Sekret Machines” that will use music from his band Angels & Airwaves, a documentary and books, both fiction and non-fiction, to seriously discuss the phenomena of aliens.

But also not “aliens” per se:

“First of all, we don’t really call it “aliens.” In pop culture, that’s a term people throw out there, and rightfully so because the government spends a lot of time and a lot of money throwing that term out there. But it’s much more complex than that.”

Oh right of course.

But also what?

Anyway, when asked about what this project had to do with Blink-182, he said that, while it didn’t concretely form his decision, it had a big impact.

“When you’re an individual like me, dealing with something that’s a national security issue [sic], and you’re being gifted with the opportunity to communicate something you’ve been passionate about your whole life… I can’t do everything. I can’t tour nine months out of the year with enough time to do the enormity of what I’m setting out to do.”

Alright well thank god we have the lead-singer of a pop-punk band on this.

Of course if he does prove the existence of alien contact, we’ll look like the stupid ones.
