Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have announced their triumphant return with the forthcoming release of their 18th studio album, “Wild God,” set to drop on August 30 via Play It Again Sam. This highly anticipated 10-track project will mark their first album since 2019’s acclaimed “Ghosteen.”

During the interim period, Nick Cave has kept the news cycle buzzing with his characteristic flair, offering sharp commentary on topics ranging from artificial intelligence to his controversial album “Murder Ballads,” as well as the monarchy and more.

“Wild God” has been in development since the dawn of 2023, and its evolution has been shaped by recording sessions held in both France and the UK. Notably, the album has been co-produced by longtime Bad Seed Warren Ellis, who has also collaborated with Cave on scoring the upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic.

Reflecting on the album’s creation, Cave expressed his hope that “Wild God” will have a profound impact on listeners, mirroring the effect it has had on him personally. Describing the record as both complex and infectiously joyous, Cave remarked, “There is never a master plan when we make a record. The records rather reflect back the emotional state of the writers and musicians who played them. Listening to this, I don’t know, it seems we’re happy.”

To celebrate the announcement, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have unveiled the title track, giving fans a tantalizing glimpse into the sonic landscape of “Wild God.” Alongside this teaser, the complete tracklist for the album has been revealed, offering a preview of what promises to be another captivating musical journey from one of alternative rock’s most enduring and innovative acts.
