Sinéad O’Connor passed away from natural causes, according to a statement from the Southwark Coroner’s Court. The Irish musician, who was discovered unresponsive at her residence in south London in July, was declared dead at the age of 56. The court confirmed the cause of death and announced the cessation of the coroner’s involvement in the case.

Authorities had clarified a day after the announcement of her death that there were no suspicions of foul play. Sinéad O’Connor, renowned for her activism and musical talents, had recently returned to London, sharing on social media that she had been away for 23 years.

The singer gained international fame with her 1990 single “Nothing Compares 2 U,” which topped charts worldwide. Beyond her musical career, O’Connor was known for her outspoken social and political views. She released a total of 10 studio albums from 1987 to 2014.
