Yesterday, May 1st, Red Hot Chili Peppers dedicated their set at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival to Taylor Hawkins who passed away a little over month ago. Foo Fighters were originally supposed to perform, but canceled with the unfortunate loss of thier drummer and friend.

The Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith used a drumkit with a special desgin on the kick drum, the outline of a hawk with “Taylor” written inside.

Smith spoke to the crowd about his friend saying “We just found out about this two weeks ago, because Foo Fighters were supposed to play here tonight. We love the Foo Fighters, and we love our brother Taylor Hawkins. So this means a lot to us to be able to play for them.”
