Support continues to flow toward the Grande Prairie Storm as they request continued online donations and sponsorship.

The non-profit organization has reached an agreement with investors which will keep the team on the ice for the remainder of this season and into the future. An investor group, led by Murray Toews, will provide short-term loans, as required, to move the team from a week-to-week operations to a postion where the team can finish the season and plan for future seasons.

On January 18 the Storm launched a #SaveOurStorm campaign which focused on three specific areas:
• An online funding campaign where fans anywhere can donate to help the team
• Significant discounts on sponsorships for this season and next season
• Seeking investors who will be part of a group who will aid in sustaining the finances non-profit operation
The online campaign and search for more sponsors is continuing. The Storm are inviting everyone to attend games to show their support for the team as they play their final five home games of the regular season. A former player and coach, Tyler Vollman, has issued a challenge to the public that he will wear the Storm mascot, Slap Shot, if 1,500 people attend a game.

In addition, the Storm are offering free tickets to children 12 and under to both the Thursday, February 4, and Friday, February 5 games, thanks to the Canadian Natural Resources community ticket program.

These two teams have been battling for the final playoff position all season, with the Storm holding the upper position until recent injuries resulted in them slipping out of a playoff position.
