I should mention I bought the fattest Christmas tree of all time this year. Sort of the luck of the draw when you buy real trees from a store… and you never REALLY know what you’ll get until you get it inside the house and cut the strings. This year turned out to be a FULL mammoth of a tree, about twice the size as last year.

We decided to put the tree in our plastic stand and give it some water over the weekend, planning to decorate, which we did last night. So we cooked some appetizers and loaded the tree up with decorations both old and new, fighting with knots in lights and rotating the tree to get a good angle.

The nachos got cold, and at times it was frustrating trying to find burnt out lights which made one strand blink for hours lol.

Then, sleeping soundly after the task, a HUGE CRASH from the living room. Yup, the mammoth tree, loaded up with memories preserved by mom and dad and new decorations came crashing down.

I pitifully kicked a plastic bulb this morning over breakfast… grateful that we didn’t have many glass decorations, and wondering where to get an industrial sized tree stand, because the mammoth will rise again.
