Huge community news.

The QE2 Hospital Foundation rebranded to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation. The change was deemed necessary to support the new hospital (open 2019) and the existing QE2 Hospital.

They announced a new $20 million Key to Care Capital Campaign, which is the largest campaign of any regional Hospital Foundation in Alberta. “This is an aggressive goal and we believe that if any community can rise to this challenge, it will be this one”, says Lyle Carlstrom, Co Chair of the Campaign.

The campaign is comprised of 4 components; the purchase of specialized medical equipment, the equipment legacy fund, healing through art initiatives and a patient educational component.
On Saturday, at the Festival of Trees Gala, 2 lead gifts were announced.

Seven Generations Energy Ltd and the Ken & Teresa Sargent Charitable Foundation in combination with Ken Sargent GMC and Sean Sargent Toyota each announced a $1 million dollar commitment to the campaign. More announcements are pending.

The primary purpose of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation is to work with the community to raise and manage funds to enhance patient care and further education at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital and QE II Hospital. The Foundation plays a critical role in providing funding for innovative medical equipment, major projects, educational support opportunities and programs that enrich the mental health of patients and their families.
